How to remove cracked lug nut?

Default How to remove cracked lug nut?

It’s the locking one. Any ideas?

Use a reverse socket kit made for rounded bolts or you can use a standard socket that is barely larger and tap it in with a hammer. Then remove as normal.

just had to deal with this. pound a 19mm(or whatever size fits super tight) 12- point 1/2 inch drive socket on there and use an impact wrench to loosen it. make sure it's a socket you aren't fond of.

exactly what mspearl suggested 19mm, but make sure its a 12 point deep socket. Hammer hard it in until it stops, then grab a breaker bar and loosen it. It most likely will destroy the socket, or making it difficult to remove the old lug out. So maybe best to buy a single cheap socket

I would take it to a tire shop or the dealer. When I bought my 2GS, it didn't include the wheel lock key. I stopped by the Toyota dealership and they quickly removed the lock nuts and replaced with regular ones. Didn't charge but I tipped the tech.
