Abs light on
Hello Guys !
I have an ABS light that I had recently fixed due to the wheel speed sensor must have gone out. I replaced the whole thing with a brand new wheel bearing, however, when I have had mechanics reset the light. They told me that they are not able to reset it from their end and I would have to call someone else to go ahead and do it. I am just trying to get any ideas why the ABS light would not want to reset and is giving them issues ?

@Steezytony Did you do the work yourself or did a mechanic perform the job for you? The reason I ask is because there is very little tolerance between the ABS tone ring on the axle, the ABS sensor and the wheel bearing. It's possible that when the wheel bearing was replaced that the ABS sensor was physically broken when putting things back together (or after being driven). The axle will only fit so far into the spindle before it stops. Then the ABS sensor has clearance about the thickness of a dime between it and axle ABS tone ring. If the clearance wasn't checked for interference while spinning the axle there may not have been enough. You may need to replace the sensor again because it broke and that would be why the ABS warning light cannot be reset. Good luck!
Not many scanners can erase airbag codes, take it to someone who has an airbag scanner and see what is going on. Its possible that the sensor is not sitting properly as topnotch stated, also did you use oem or denso sensor? If the sensor was aftermarket then its possible the part is the issue
