I didnt replace my passenger side axle, as so many members claim its a nightmare. Many have resorted to building pulling jigs and thats what works. imo, this is best to take to a knowledgable mechanic. cv replacements do not cost much, ide rather pay the price and not deal with headaches.

I had a shop replace my drivers side, and they was on the good and tight.

It definitely is a nightmare. I read on the IS and ES forums, takes people days/weeks constantly trying to take it out. Someone hooked up their truck to the axle and it still didn't come out. Air hammer didn't work, torch didn't work, etc..

If the passenger side axle is not clicking or popping, my advise is to find an axle shop who can replace just the boots and repack the bearing while the axle is in the car. There are special tools shops have that can stretch new axle boots over the bearing, without having to remove the axles.

btw several years its been with my cordone axle I purchased from rockauto and I seen a tear in one of the boots. So the cordone axle boots are not good quality. The axle itself is fine

My front left axle boot tore, slinging grease everywhere. Cardone seems to be the primary choice on RockAuto, just want to make sure I'm not buying cheap chinese junk
