Possible trans prob
Hey there.. so car went in to a trans place and they couldnt pin point the prob. Now at a "lexus specialist" place and they are still uncertain of the issue.. and now playing process of elimination.
so back story of what happend. I was otw dropping my son off to school yesterday. Halfway there we stopped at Starbucks (no not for my son, just my fiance and i) but after leaving, the car coming to a stop or deacceleration, it would harshly downshift at about 15mph (lighter hit) then at 5mph almost to stop, it would seem like it would downshift more harshly, almost stopping car in its track. So i tried to test it out with it in nuetral. It still did it in nuetral as well. No cel or warning lights at all either. Car ran smooth as butter for the 5yrs ibe had it, and literally started in a blink of an eye. Right now, to have the trans serviced is 850 bux.. then if that doesnt fix it, they said they will change ecu and itll cost 1.1k for the ecu and program. And if that doesnt fix it, then itll be a trans replacement... which will be about 3.5 to 4k. So in total of 6+k. I dont care about price as much, but i feel like i am getting a run around for this prob. Anyone else experience this?
