Passenger side headlight not turning on sometimes
Now, if replacement is needed, you've said it all: there are no decent aftermarket options in regards to headlights. Same for the ballasts. I personally bit the bullet and went OEM. The front of the car looks like new, no warning light on and AFS works perfectly fine. I got them on eBay imported from the UAE, even with the tariffs, I came out winning by a large margin. And they come with new ballasts.
Now I understand they cost a fortune and it is your choice. Aftermarket tends to be like the lottery. You could have one headlight loosing its waterproofing after 3 months and the other side still look OK. Quality controls are next to non-existent. A third solution is finding used headlights that look really clean and are still waterproof. However resealing them upon arrival is a good idea. But they're really rare in good shape.
About the ballast, same thing, electronics in Lexus above 2000 are picky. It depends on whether you can live with a warning light on and no AFS.
As for the bulbs, I really recommend either the Osram CBI (more affordable, what I have) or the Philips XtremeVision gen.2. The latter are the best in the business. You can't go wrong with either, however, as these are simply the best brands.
