Default Oil Consumption video

Maybe this information may help you guys who are having oil issues! I have always mentioned I replace my old every 3,000 miles with castrol gtx, just a standard oil with an oem filter. Thankfully never seen an oil light and never low on oil.

As for chemicals if you are having issues, a good product from BG there EPR and MOA. There sold on ebay and amazon!

Not sure this is conclusive evidence. He talks about two 2012 Camrys, and I happen to own 2013 Camry since new with the same engine.
At 72K miles, I've done synthetic oil change every 10K miles, and I'm not seeing any oil consumption issue.

However, I have considered changing oil every 5K miles with non-synthetic oil.

Majority of owners who see issues dont start until 100k miles and over. It takes time for deposits to build up in your engine and gums out small orifices. Im not knocking synthetic oils, I think there great and are very good! But our cars dont need them, they are not high hp turbo engines with tons of heat. There low revving engines! I just see at as a waste of money, because my oil and filter are replaced at 3k miles. Having fresher cleaner good quality oil imo is better for the engine. Oil is cheaper then an engine rebuild

I just googled lexus oil change duration and this is what they are suggesting
https://www.iralexus.com/how-often-s...hange-my-oil/A great way to know when you need an oil change and how often you need an oil change, is by referring to your vehicle’s owner’s manual. But a good rule of thumb is to get an oil change every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, if driving under normal conditions. However, if you routinely travel in more severe conditions, then that frequency could change to every 3,000 miles.

There are several instances that constitute as a severe driving condition, such as:

  • Traveling for long distances at speeds of less than 50 MPH.
  • Driving on muddy, salty, gravelly, or dusty roads.
  • Constantly taking short trips (less than five miles in normal temperatures, or less than 10 miles in freezing temperatures).
