hi,
i have recently purchased Lexus GS 300 model 2008 with 213000 km on the clock. when i start the car in the morning even if i start after 6 to 7 hours its gives a rattling noise from engine for a second or two only and all of a sudden becomes normal. can any one help me with this issue? is it something serious?

 

Sounds like a bad vvti camshaft sprocket, the US lexus had a recall on all of these. Hope that rattle is coming from the top of the engine and not the bottom. Parts are not expensive, and labor is not bad, but you will need a good specialist to do it. Its not a diy project
