Default In over my head

Hi everyone

I recently purchased a 2008 GS460, it had a fault code for a faulty knock sensor. I read a few forum posts and people seem to say its not too difficult to access and change out. I sourced the part and decided to give it a go.
Well there's so many things to disconnect and undo. I managed to get the manifold off and pulled the foam they put underneath it out of the way, then i noticed a plug that looked disconnected. It turns out it is one of the plugs from a fuel injector. it appears to be snapped off the injector with part of the injector still inside the plug.
I'm not 100% sure if I broke it off or it was already broken. It seems these engines have direct and port fuel injection. Could it have been broken all along and responsible for a very light rough idle the car has always had? or would the car just not run at all, be throwing codes and its 100% certainty that I broke it.
They all seem very brittle, and another one is wobbly in the connection like its ready to break. They are the injectors in the bottom fuel rail, there's a set of six chinese ones on ebay for like $100 part #23250-31030. Will these be ok or should i steer clear?
I sort of wish I'd never decided to have a crack at this job.

Do you have a pic of the cracked plug? maybe post it to better help you.

Couldnt you just pin terminals and maybe add a glob of sillicone if you cant find a replacement plug. Did you try going to the dealer and asking if they sell just that one single plug? Theres no need to feel discouraged keep going and finish the job, all mechanics run into these issues. Just try to be more carefully, if you have a plug thats being a pain, try pushing it inward, and wiggling it until it frees up. Try to avoid gorilla hands when yanking them off.

Ya, you will need to replace that injector. Why not just replace 1 with a oem injector? Theres no need to replace the other, although I would replace all the top o-rings just to be on the safe side and not get any leaks. After you install the new o-rings lightly coat them with oil before sliding them into the fuel rail to avoind pinching and tearing the rubber.

I found a new oem on ebay with the same part number, and its only $32 shipped. I would avoid chinese injectors! For the o-rings see if the dealer has them in stock, more likely they would or can match you one with there universal sets.

Definitely avoid Chinese brands at all costs, especially when it comes to such an important part. Buy once, cry once... Just get all new OEM ones and eat ramen for a month, it'll be well worth the investment, especially if you plan on owning the car for a long time. At least just get the OEM part for the one and leave the rest if money is tight.

I think a bad injector making the car run on 7 cylinders may indeed be responsible for a rough idle...
