Default Intermittent reversing camera?

The rear camera (stock Lexus) on mu 2010 GS450h is only coming on intermittently. Sometimes the parking assist comes on, sometimes nothing, sometimes both. I think it is the same module that supports both capabilities? Is there any way to diagnose this or is a replacement required?

TIA for any advice.

Maybe you have a corroded plug in your trunk somewhere. When you said the parking sensors, did it trigger the rear bumper parking sensors?

Could be. I'm not sure where to look? The front and rear sensors both seem intermittent.

Never heard of this issue, maybe someone who has had it can shed some light. But im thinking may you have an electrical feed issue, because this is more then one device. You more likely need to pull a wiring diagram and see if the parking sensors, and the rear camera are on the same module which I doubt. But more likely they use the same ground, and possibly a power wire issue from the fuse box. Was the car ever wrecked in the back?

My understanding is that they use the same module and it's somewhere in the trunk area. I have not yet found it, there are a few candidates back there. If you have a wiring diagram or a link to one, I'd love a copy!

It seems to be working for now - I went through the Nav unit's "configuration/test/diagnostics mode" (not sure what it's actually called??) and reset everything I could and that seemed to do the trick. Not sure that is the permanent fix though...

Thanks for the link. You're not kidding about that site. The most promising document that I found is almost 1600 pages long!
