Default Unlock door with key?

Can someone please help me out here. I just installed a new actuator in my driver side door. The lock hasn’t worked for about six months so I’ve been manually locking and unlocking it.

Is it possible to manually lock and unlock the driver side door with your key if the actuator is working? I think there might be something wrong with the manual locking mechanism of the actuator I just installed. It rotates and I can feel resistance on the other side so it’s clearly engaging the actuator, but I am not able to unlock the door with the key once I’ve locked the car. Thank you.

Why not just remove the door panel and see what is going on. Maybe the new actuator connecting rod you installed isnt seated properly. It is possible to use the lock manually

But temporarily an easier way to enter the car, double click the unlock on the key fob this will lower your windows. Then simply unlock it from the inside of the car vs removing the key and popping open the cover etc.

Thanks ibidu. I was able to get in and out of the car no problem. It was just that the manual key lock mechanism was not working. Also, the connecting rod was seated properly. Anyway, I had to pop off the outside key lock cover, pull the lock cylinder, manually turn the lock cylinder on the actuator to the right and reinstall the lock cylinder. All works well now.
