Default Avoid Cheap rotors on these cars

When I bought the car (a bit over 2 yrs ago) they installed new pads and rotors. The rotors aren't center coated like the OEMs, the car had OEMs but they were warped, but the centers were still not rusty since they are coated.
So, there was rust growth on one front rotor in the inside center, and it made a hard to track down noise. Only when I did lots of brushing and grinding, did I get it to get less and less and finally go away. I'll have to drive to be sure. It almost sounded like a bad bearing. I never really saw anything rub though. The rotors and pads are still structurally ok, so no reason to replace yet, unless the noise comes back. The hub spins smoothly w/o the rotor so its not the bearing. They look like any other non-coated rotor at that age.

I looked up pads and rotors on Ebay from a Discount Lexus Dealer, under $250 shipped. Honestly that is a bargain. I have an old Explorer and I think those parts from Ford are a bit more. There is no reason to buy the parts store stuff. It actually cost less than the big box parts store "premium" product. The coating may be more than just looks, especially in a salt area.

drill and a wire wheel attachment will knock that rust out. Like RXGS a nice high temp paint will stop them from rusting, my oem I painted them about the same color because they were looking crusty
