Phone can still connect to the in car system. I found call quality on in car is better, although I have not played around with the grom mic gain.
Steering wheel buttons operate just like the oem system so no changes there. All buttons function correctly.
Google maps is now available and does show up on the dash screen all the same.

Overall, this will update your system to current day, and makes me feel like I do not need another car for a long time.

 

Well I went to update my unit per GROMs advice, and now it is completely unresponsive. Says “No CD” when I press the button. I’ve emailed GROM and they’re response was again to update it. I think the unit is bricked and I pray that it didn’t do anything to the OEM unit, although everything else seems to be working accordingly.

I never had these problems with the Chinese made Tesla unit and I had gotten a very early model of that.

 

I wasn't aware of this thread! I really dig the Grom Vline but my 2006 GS has the old hardware and interface (Windows 95-like) which makes the Vline interface look horrible. I'll have to wait until I get another GS, but at least I know exactly what it's going to look like. 👍
