Question Fuel Range Screen fluctuate.

Hello all
For the last year, every week I fill up my tank, at different gas stations, the Approx. Range screen reads: 489KM or 488KM, in the winter months it reads: 475KM or 474KM. I always fill up with Premium 91% Octane. However, in the last 4-5 weeks, this number went down to 467KM and this weekend, I filled up and it read: 445KM.
is there something wrong with my engine that it's consuming this much gas or is there something with the computer that feeds the Fuel Range screen.
my driving habbits never changed, I drive about 140-150 KM a week, no long distance driving, rarely highway driving, maintenance is always on time and at Lexus dealer.
2011 Lexus GS 350 AWD
Any ideas?

Thank you so much

J

It depends on the area. I guess some parts of North America have already switched to a winter blend fuel resulting in a lower range.

Have you done a tune up yet? Change filter, plugs, check tire pressure, etc.

Probably best to track it manually log it and see, but like MX73 in your area during the winter gas companies switch to a winter blend gas to help your cars with the colder weather. Sadly this winter blend is not the best for fuel economy.

thank you Gents for your replies.
The manual tracking is in motion, the problem is what do I do with the info? I have it recorded but not getting a clear answer from Lexus. they want me to bring the car in for a check up ($$$), yeah right
anyhow, it could've been the winter gasoline blend.. will see..
thanks again.. will keep you posted.

Range (Miles to Empty) is calculated by the MPG reading and the fuel tank level.
As others have described, the winter blend fuel affects your results and the math shows it.

The Range always drops in the winter months. I am in NJ and I can get 350 miles out of a gas tank in the summer time and maybe 300 miles at best during the peak winter months. I have noticed that every year for many years. The fuel itself is abviously colder in the tank during winter months therefore your car needs slightly more fuel to get the right temperature at the combustion step.
