Have a Japanese import 2005 GS430, the car arrived with an aftermarket head unit, the wiring loom for it and red, white and yellow RCAs all run into the glovebox. My thought it that someone has had this wired in for AUX, USB capabilities etc that the OEM stereo/navi system doesn’t offer.
I’ve spent a fair bit of time trying to get this head unit working (powers on etc) and navigating the Japanese stereo / navigation system has been difficult, and I still cannot figure this out.
Does the factory Lexus stereo have an option to output audio to an external source like RCAs?
Probably wants to verify if its a 2nd or 3rd gen. The 3rd technically launched in 2005 Europe and Japan.
Anyways. I think the Japanese model may have an output. Not 100% since they have the TV option and MD options. It looks like they tapped into the factory harness to install the aftermarket HU. Are you trying to get the factory unit to work?
