Default 08 GS460 AFS Leveling Sensor

Driving home tonight out of nowhere I got the dreaded "VSC ABS AFS OFF" error codes and immediately thought my ABS Brake Actuator had failed. After driving for a few miles I noticed most error codes had gone away and the only one that remained was "AFS OFF". A quick search on youtube revealed that the most likely culprit could the afs leveling sensor located on the rear driver side control arm. I know this is a common issue with our cars and used units can be found on ebay for about $80 or so. I will check car-part.com later tonight...searched rockauto.com and could not find it. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket for this part and if so where to find it?

Thanks.

Before you go buying new parts you can quickly check to see if the actuator is broken or not. Just look at the rear lower a arm and see if the tiny arm is still attached and not broken. Many things can trigger AFS as its a general code, its best to get the codes scanned to see what triggered it.

My front one just snapped today because the bottom ball joint on the arm was completely seized. You can buy a used one for around $150, an aftermarket Dorman for $200, or just the arm for $50 plus some shipping off eBay, but if I remember correctly it shipped from Belarus and takes about 2 weeks to get stateside. I went the aftermarket route because realistically all I needed was the arm, and I don’t have time to wait for the cheaper option to arrive
