Our 2009 GS450H head unit with nav is functional, barely. Even with the newest map upgrade the whole nav program seems like its mid 2000's. Even our 2016 Ford nav function is vastly superior to the Lexus unit. The whole search and input process is tedious and prone to mistakes. We also dont care for the phone feature with storing names or numbers and although we have our phone paired to the system, we dont use the Lexus phone features. Again almost anything else we have is superior in function. I have an extra 2 DIN head unit from a vehicle we no longer have, and I really like how it works. I know this is going out on a limb, but has anyone installed an aftermarket or later model head unit in a vehicle like ours? I dont have access to a newer GS model to compare and dont know if it would work anyway.

I've been following the Tesla style upgrades but really dont feel like experimenting, plus the price is putting me off for a while.
