Default GS300 Catalytic Converter

I was looking to purchase a new catalytic converter for my 2006 gs300 rwd and Im a bit confused between the different types of catalytic converters. I see that there are driver and passenger side ones and then there's front and rear positions and Im also seeing pipe assembly and exhaust manifold converters. How would I figure out which one I would need?

Im currently shopping around on carid.com

Which one of yours is bad? If you dont know maybe you can take it to a descent muffler shop to have them do a catalytic test on it.

More often than not on this car, at least AWD models, it’s an exhaust leak causing the CEL to go off making it look like a catalytic converter. I’d look into that first and completely rule it out before buying a catalytic converter.

as for which one to buy, I think as long as you aren’t in New York or California, you can buy the cheaper aftermarket oneS. In New York, I know they are mandating that you buy them from the dealer so it is an OEM part

This - the CEL and VSC could be caused by anything from leak in the exhaust and intake, to bad O2 sensor, to switching motor oil from conventional (dino) oil to synthetic oil.

I'd work on ruling out every cause before dropping $2k on replacing the catalytic converter.

There isn't much that can really go wrong with the CAT converter, unless there is something upstream in the engine that is causing the CAT converter to fail.
