Default ( No Power When I Hit Gas) “HELP PLEASE READ!!!”

So when I bought the car it wasn’t running so I put a new battery and added oil in the car started right up but sounded horrible and turn right off. A few days later I replace the camshaft sensor bank2 and ignition coil F and the car sounded a little better and stayed running and The codes went away.

The next day I replaced all of the spark plugs and engine stop shaking and also I was able to drive around the block but didn’t have much power. So I decided to replace all of the ignition coils and it sounded really good and stayed on. But when I press the gas I am not gaining speed like I should be I get up to about 15 mph and that’s Max I drove it around about 10 minutes and as I started to hit the brakes the car shut off on me.

So I’m trying to figure out what’s the problem now someone said that I might have something blocking the airflow and then another person that works at a shop said that I need to replace the whole engine because it’s an internal problem so I’m kind of lost.

any information would help I would really appreciated if anybody knows somebody that works on Lexuses in the bay area let me know please. Thanks very much please thanks for reading

Youre at this point throwing money at the car in hopes of finding a solution, at this rate the car will be a money pit for you. My advice take it to a good mechanic or better yet take it to lexus and pay for 1 hours of diagnostics on the car. It shouldnt cost you much! They should be able to determine what the problem the car is having and they will usually offer you a huge repair bill. You can either fix it through lexus or pay a local mechanic to do the repairs.

I think I remember you had the 06 GS300 awd! My theory was it was carbon built up!

Sounds like the car went into limp home mode. Best recommendation is to get a diagnostics before you continue throwing money at it.

Please don't throw parts at a car, it is a very frustrating waste of money.

Is the CEL on?
Maybe this is your problem?

yea I think your right to be honest I looked it up and there is a recall on 2006 Lexus GS 300 with the carbon buildup so I’m going to see if my car falls under that category. Because I’m getting all the symptoms that pretty much relate to what you’re saying and also with the recall is for. So I’m trying to see how I can go about doing checking the recall.

Yeah I had connected the scanner in the codes for the camshaft sensor and ignition coil came up so I thought that was a problem. I connected my scanner again and those codes went away

Pay the dealership for the diagnostics fee (~$100), like ibidu said... Less headache for you... You get get them to figure out whats wrong.

When you said MAX 15MPH, did the car shift gears at all? I don't pay attention to my transmission shifts, but I'm sure the RPMs are about ~2k+ when you're doing 15mph (initiating gear change). Maybe something's up with the transmission if the RPMs sit high when you're doing 15MPH? Try doing manual shifts if that is the case, see if it moves from gear 1 --> gear 2.

All we can do is give you speculation to be honest... GL with your ventures! A lot of GS300's been popping up in these subforums lately.
