AFS lights?
hey guys, two weeks ago i bought a used 2009 lexus GS450H, and i have a problem with the headlights, when i turn them on for the first time they light up, go up and then after a second go down, and from there they stay down all the time, in dark areas i can see 4-5 meters in front of me then there is complete darkness, and my car has the AFS lights, but when i try to steer they don't steer, they stay straight forward....does this mean that the lights sort of stuck? or is there something else?

how low down do they go? can u post photos?
AFS systems have 2 leveling arms, front and rear.
Make sure they are not damaged from the previous owner.
Also, when people install and uninstall struts to replace on our cars, they put the AFS leveling arm on backwards, that could be your culprit too.
A quick search on this subforum can help you find out where they're located and how to fix the problem.

Yup check the rear drivers side lower control arm to make sure that arm sensor is mounted correctly. If it is, I suggest you buy a techstream software/usb on ebay and scan your ecu to search for the code or take it to a lexus/toyota mechanic and have them scan it. It will show exactly what error is happening.
