Of course, safety gloves for high voltage first.
And this battery pack is damn heavy.

Nice! Glad you figured out the problem. Would be great for our members who have the same problem.
It would be a great idea to put on some anti-corrosive/anti-oxidizing conductive grease (be careful to clean the grease if it seeps out from the connectors though, as it IS still conductive).
It would also help with power transfer, as when you sanded it, it was a high-grit paper and you lose some surface area.
