Default Maintenance Questions on 2008 GS350

Hello All,

I got my 08 GS350 6 years ago with 68000 mileages and have not done any maintenance except tire, brake pad, rotor, air filters and oil changes only. Now my GS is approaching 150000 miles.

Do I need to go and do a major maintenance? like what kind of maintenances? I was once told that the differential oil and transmission oil are needed to change, do they?

So far There is nothing wrong with my GS at all.

Please help.

Thanks,
John

I have the same exact model and here is what Lexus recommends at 120k. I would check your water pump also first and foremost if you haven't already done so. It's quite a common thing around here as far as I have seen and isn't too bad to replace.FACTORY RECOMMENDED

  • Perform Road-Test on Vehicle
  • Rotate Tires
  • Inspect Axle Shaft Boots
  • Inspect Body
  • Inspect Front Differential Oil (4WD/AWD, If Applicable)
  • Inspect Rear Differential Oil (4WD/AWD, If Applicable)
  • Inspect Transfer Case For Signs Of Leakage (4WD/AWD, If Applicable)
  • Inspect Transmission for Signs of Leakage
  • Inspect Visually, Brake Linings/Drums And Brake Pads/Discs
  • Inspect Ball Joints And Dust Covers
  • Inspect Brake Lines And Hoses
  • Inspect Engine Coolant
  • Inspect Steering Linkage And Boots
  • Inspect Brake Linings/Drums And Brake Pads/Discs
  • Inspect Exhaust Pipes And Mountings
  • Inspect Steering Gear Box/Rack And Pinion
  • Inspect Drive Belts
  • Inspect Fuel Lines And Connections, Fuel Tank Band And Fuel Tank Vapor Vent System Hoses
  • Inspect Fuel Tank Cap Gasket
  • Replace Brake Fluid
  • Replace Engine Oil And Oil Filter
  • Replace Spark Plugs
  • Replace Engine Air Filter
  • Replace Cabin Air Filter (If Equipped)

John,

Definitely get the transmission and differential fluids replaced. Given the milage, doing several drain/fills of the transmission would be better than getting it flushed
