2005 gs300 (p0751 p0761 p2714 p2757)
Hi Guys,
A couple of months ago I traded my 2006 IS250 fully loaded in for a 2005 GS300 with full Lexus service history and only 72k miles on the clock from a main Lexus Dealer here in Dublin Ireland, it was actually the owner of the garage who sold the car to me!
Before I bought the car the VSC warning was on but the Lexus dealer cleared it off before I picked up the car and everything was OK until the VSC came back on shortly after I picked up the car but it would go on and then go off again for the following months.
Finally I got the dealer to plug it in a few weeks ago and the following came up:
P0751 Shift Solenoid "A" Performance or Stuck OFF
P0761 Shift Solenoid "C" Performance or Stuck OFF
P2714 Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Performance or Stuck OFF
P2757 Torque Convertor Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Performance or Stuck OFF
The service department gave me the print out and told me they would need to book it back in for an appointment to spend a bit off time on it to diagnose the problem fully.
I did this today and this is what came back:
P0761 Shift Solenoid "C" Performance or Stuck OFF
P2714 Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Performance or Stuck OFF
P2757 Torque Convertor Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Performance or Stuck OFF
I was told I need 2 new valves and a new torque convertor, they would need to send it off to be done and then rebuild it in house?
It would take 3 days and cost over €2600.
My 1st question is where has P0751 gone??
My 2nd is what would you recommend I do??
I bought the car from a main Lexus dealer because it had a full Lexus service history and really low miles, I would not have bought it if I knew it needed work, I suppose I would have expected the dealer might have mentioned there was issues (VSC warning) before I bought it, you would expect this from a back street car dealer but not a Main Lexus dealer??

Just return the car buddy. Not worth the headache. Unless your fine with dishing out that $2600. You should not have to deal with these expensive repairs when your buying a car from a prestige dealer. You should just be able to get in and go. You know oil and brakes and that's it. Keep trying the dealer. Tell them you shouldn't be responsible for that. They did shady business. And if they don't fix it you'd like to return it. My best bet. Advising you logically at least. But if you like the car, gotta good job, and plan on keeping it for a long time, go for it! Either or, good luck to you my friend and GODBLESS!

Finally after a lot of conversations the garage repaired the car for free before Christmas, I have not been driving it since June 2017 but at least its fixed? Went to turn it on today and the P/S light is coming on and the car wont even start? And the engine fan keeps running when I turn on the ignition??
