I drove an 08 LS 460
[I apologize for my bad English] So I went to test drive an RWD LS the same model as my car 08 GS 350 AWD. I honestly I was expecting more out of the LS because I heard so many great things about the car from the people they own it. Now the LS is very different than the GS and I don't think it's a fair comparison between the two but I thought I'd share my personal opinion. The LS is roomier, more comfortable car if you take it across the country or you sit on the back seat. It's definitely not a car I'd buy to enjoy because it's no fun whatsoever. Even with the big engine, the car felt so heavy and did not seems faster than my GS at all although it's a RWD. You can feel the push in the GS way more than the LS maybe because of the AWD in the GS. You can't feel you're going that fast in the LS until you see the speedometer maybe that's why my GS feels way faster from 0-100 km. The handling also seems very bad due to it's weight and not meant to corner it very fast. The 8-speed transmission I like it and I don't. I like it when I'm going 120 km and the engine is below 2000 rpm but I hate it when I accelerated from 0-100, it kept on 4th gear for a while and then shifted. It was hesitating at some point. And in terms of luxury, I did not feel that difference between my car and the LS except in the back seat. After this test drive, now I appreciate my GS more and I know now my next car will be the current generation GS.

Between the IS and GS is minimal but both share the close to the same design but the GS is slightly better, better in that the cabin is about an inch wider, more leather in the interior, smoother engine, and more refined. The GS to LS comparison is the same as it offers just a little more of everything.
The LS is a better in that it rides quieter and smoother, more reliable (minus suspension bushings), better looking

haha never.
that's all true. I was annoyed as well when I didn't see turn signals on the side mirrors in the 08 LS. They added that in the 2010 model year.
