Not going to lie here.... I'm mildly terrified of this happening to my 460, haha. Even though I have roughly half the miles on my car (38k), I knew damn well that the dealers here wouldn't jump through hoops for me like your dealership did with you. Excuse me if I missed this part, but did you hear any excessive knocking or see any blue smoke?

TRD - Thanks for the comment. I have NOT had any knocking or blue smoke.

UPDATE**

The dealer has performed an oil change with 0W-20. The wife drove it all weekend and so far no more issue. I am not saying this fixed it, but, we will see.

The Service Drive Manager says the oil messes with the knock sensor throwing everything off. Now I'm not a car guru but what does the Knock Sensor have to do with oil. I thought it reads air/fuel mixtures...not oil.

Having the same symptoms with my gs460 2008 transmission lag + hesitaion while acceleration.
I did change for :
- Transmission oil + filter.
- Spark Plug.
- Knock sensor.
- Fuel filter.
- Injectors cleaning.
- Cats removed.
- Throttle body cleaning.

But nothing change .

Note:
Using Castrol Magntic 5W-30.

Gs46046 - I hear ya. But the dealer is telling me that you can ONLY USE 0W-20. Since my last oil change that the dealer just did, as a process of elimination, the car has ran better until yesterday (day 5). Its not very noticeable but I can tell its about to start acting up again. I give my car about another week before it starts lagging again.

snoball, what part of town are you located at? If you don't mind me asking. I am in the Humble area and I would like to meet with you sometime and have you to test drive my GS460 if you're OK with that. The reason I would like you to do this is because I'd like to hear from your past experiences to my car if it's having similar symptom related in this thread. I owned it since 40K miles and currently has 95K miles, 0W-20 Mobile 1 full synthetic changes every 10K miles. Transmission fluid drains and refills @ every 25K miles. Original plugs.

I am in the Woodlands/North Spring area. I'd be happy to check out your car at some point in time. May be a few weeks. With four kids and all of them in sports, I don't have to take a crap sometimes. I'm not sure if you know this but your transmission is suppose to already have :lifetime" fluid. you should have to do that unless absolutely necessary. That's what Northside told me.

Sure thanks snoball for considering to check out my car whenever you have time ... I really don't buy that "lifetime" transmission fluid from either the manual or the dealer said for this particular vehicle or else, I just do my best to hope for a long lasting, less headache and more enjoyable driving.

Oil viscosity has nothing to do with the knock sensor.

Looks like the valve guides are causing the knock sensor to retard the engine. All the 4.6Ls can develop this problem.
