Should I sell 08 GS 460
Hey guys I have had my GS for about 2 years now it's been fun and great to drive, bought it with 30k now has 70 miles, did all major service including new shocks etc by Lex dlr. I am considering upgrading to 2013 e63 AMG, looking for more power and just a different ride.
Any thoughts out there on the mercedes products and the AMG family?
Thoughts on trading the GS or should I private party sale the car. I am thinking it's rare enough for some one to buy it but don't want to get stuck with 2 cars for a long period of time.
Thanks for any thoughts,

Honestly, the GS460 is such a unicorn... make a post on here and a "USA" craigslist/ebay just to get word out.
Someone will scoop it up. Any dealer will lowball you hard on this car and make a cool 3-5k off of it, due to sheer rarity & limited numbers.
With AMG it's the little things that are pricey - you *may* want to get it with an aftermarket warranty...
A buddy has an [05] SL55 conv. needed odds & ends [rebuilder], so he just got a rear cut to get everything instead of piecing it... same thing, shocks/seat belts/wiring - all $$ items, but small when you think about it.
Another has a [09] E63. The E63 needed new shocks - 3k for those [special electronic suspension]. Needed a "full" tune up - a cool 1500$. But with an exhaust/tune/pulley makes shy of 600whp
But, they're wicked cars made to get hammered and do it with a smile [on your face].

i wouldn't. the chances of you ever finding another one are very slim. and if you do find another one, it will probably have the crap kicked out of it.
only you can decide, but remember, once its gone its gone and you have no way of reversing it cause anyone who buys it is going to know what it is.
the choice is yours!

if you can afford repairs on a Mercedes, then you should be able to afford to be "stuck" with both cars for a while, waiting on a lucrative private party sale....which is what you should do.

Like the others have said, if you can put up with the AMG repair costs, then you're good. I was considering a C63 AMG for a while, but then I just go back to loving my 460 too much. Like many of the members on here, I, too, get the fun-car bug, which is why I've decided to pick up a '99-'00 Viper GTS within the next year or two, but keep the 460 as a nice daily. My brother swears by all the Mercedes he's bought, but I've seen him fixing those things more times than I can count. Be cautious with who you buy it from, because chances are it's been thrashed on a bit. Good luck.

Thanks TRD I am hopeful not to become a shady tree mechanic no patience these days, if it's problematic then I have to come back. Lol.

Thanks for any thoughts,
I have both, and honestly, service costs are almost the same on both cars. I don't know why but average maintenance cost per year for my 460 is about 600 bucks. My 63 is about 500... but I guess cause its still under warranty.
AMG family? Definitely www.mbworld.com
