IF you intend on having the car serviced by your local Lexus dealer, why not inquire with them what aftermarket warranties they accept? Or see what they're familiar with. Just be mindful that a lot of aftermarket warranties give you a run around when you want or need work done on your car, even after you've purchased the coverage.
Also before you pull the trigger on a specific company to provide you the coverage, I would see how they determine whether they will foot the bill or not. My parents had purchased an extended warranty from a company (the name escapes me) and upon needing legit suspension work on their 2005 Accord (struts and axles -- you could literally hear them clanging) the warranty company denied to cover the work because according to them, the mileage for the work sought after was not within specs. Really? We live in NY where a pothole is more common than trees in a park. Anyway it was a wasted $2,500 expense to them since the entire time they had this BS "coverage" no work was performed. I feel they're a sham. If you maintain a car properly a lot of nagging issues can be avoided, and if you go the route of a reliabe independent mechanic that is honest and not looking to rape you, you'd either break even or may come out without much expense after all since a lot of cars well past a certain age are not covered by warranties anyway, and the coverage time frame is normally 2-3 years at best, to my knowledge. If you had purchased a car with much higher mileage you'd be almost certain major work is around the corner. Just maintain it properly. There's a wealth of information on this site, youtube, anywhere on the web and if you're not handy yourself, you can at least troubleshoot according to other people's experiences and approach an independent mecahnic with what needs to be done, rather than them tell you it's A, no, it's B, maybe it's C...and you're the one paying the whole way lol
