Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to replace the old model of ML amplifier with newer version, are they compatible? THX.

The old ML is rated at 330w the new one 835w, you could swap then amp and and some good aftermarket speakers. Since i'm not impressed at all with the sound quality of ML it is loud but lacks bass and dynamism, I guess due to old paper speakers which cannot be replaced with aftermarket because they will be underpowered and sound even worst.

Ok. If it's bass improvement you want, you could start with something simple, like using an aftermarket amp with improved EQ tuning. Made a world of difference for me. See the Kicker link in my signature.

If the stock sub is not enough, that same added amplifier can drive a separate sub unit. No limits.

After the bass is sorted, then reconsider if you want to go further.

BTW, can you point me to a link describing the 835W system?

Thanks for the link.

To your original question. No, they are not compatible. At minimum, the EQ is tailored to the specific drivers in the specific vehicle model. The new GS uses different drivers in a physically different cabin. It cannot be reprogrammed for your car/drivers.
