Default Question on wheel spacers

So I've seen some negatives on spacers, mainly in relation to the bolts not being as durable as oem and breaking. I know most that use them are doing it to widen wheel stance, anywhere from 3mm to 30mm+. My issue is the new wheels I bought clear calipers while driving straight and turns are ok, but when I brake into turns, I can hear it clipping calipers. I was planning on getting just a 3mm spacer disc, without the stud bolts, to give it a bit more clearance. Any concerns using them? Seems most negatives are on the bolts. TIA for any feedback.

I would avoid them not cause they are not safe, but cause for our cars ( studs ), they cause wheel wobble.
Having said that, anything less than 10mm you're safe as they come with extended studs so no difference to OEM safety!

I use 15mm front 25mm rear. Works perfect, no wobble, shakes, nothing. Don't believe alot of the stuff you "Hear". Just make sure the spacers are hubcentric and come with built in studs. The extended stud style spacer is where trouble lies

Cool, what brand are you using?

It should be noted that with a 3mm spacer you will not lose the original wheel hub "register" and that means you will still be hub centric and thus have no wobble or vibration issues.

You can use just about any 3mm spacers on the market - not much difference.

I have used 25mm with built in studs on OEM wheels = wobble

I have used 20mm with built in studs on OEM wheels = wobble

I have used 10mm with extended studs on 19" wheels = wobble

On all instances I removed the spacers and car ran smooth as butter. I am now running my 19" with no spacers and I'm great!

NOTE: All spacers were Ichiba brand and installed by local Lexus Dealer.
