Happy holidays to all, does any anyone know where the power steering cpu unit is? My power steering is stiff and the p/s icon is on. This is the 2nd time the p/s light came on, the first time was my first 3GS and the dealer slammed me with a 3500$ bill for replacing the cpu and the steering link.

But that car was done because somone hit her and was written off, so I bought a second 3GS because I love her so much. But I refuse to have the dealer shove it up my *** again so I'm trying to see if the p/s cpu is fried and needs replacement before I go on.

So does anyone know where its located?

I've seen some on ebay for the 2GS and it looks ..kinda..the same, but anyone know if they also fit 3GS also? or know the units exact part #? I've seen a few numbers from different sites..

Anyway this is bull****, the first time it happened was around this time of December also, thanks ahead if you guys could help me out.

 

It's underneath the battery. I would read the DTC code first to see what's wrong first.

 

How do I read the DTC code? do I need the hand held reader device from the auto shop?

 

Yes. If you have Auto Zone shop, they can red it for you free.
