Temporary solution
A local shop was able to cut a piece of pipe and weld it in place for around $100 as others suggested.
It's a fine solution to get rid of the noise imo.
* In unrelated news on the way home yesterday I noticed the telltale signs of ANOTHER wheel bearing failing which will be number 5 on this car. In the words of comic book guy from the Simpsons "WORST. CAR. EVER."

I am having the same issue that the left runner behind the driver side header has craked and broken right near the drirvers door. Its annoying as ****, but the pipe is pretty rusted and I dont know if a patch weld will hold. I may look into an aftermarket stainless steel midpipe.

I have a Gs350 awd, and having the same issue right now, and found a tone of cracks and rust.. Sounds like a v8 atm.. Im looking to replace this with an Invidia Midpipe due to stock midpipe costing 2k+ smh. Supposedly this is a common issue... Correct me if im wrong

Common problem best thing to do is what I did and remove the heat shield clamps and the matting all around it. If you dont your other side will rust further. See what the exhaust shop will tell you, no need in wasting money on a mid pipe. imo
You can also use a wire brush and spray it with high temp spray to stop rusting especially for you guys that are up north.

Same issue on my car...2006 GS300 AWD with 110k miles. Removing the heat shields just got me through the winter though now the pipes are leaking again.
Its seems from what I read here, its either OEM or after market mid-pipe (invidia?) with a custom install.
