Price was kind of a ripoff at 5 dollars a piece... but oh well. Definitely ruined the socket, I can't separate it from the lug at all any more and i can tell it's mangled... but for 5 bucks it's worth it, I was sure if I let a shop take it off they'd probably ruin the wheel and then charge me 40 bucks for the privilege.

Went to Toyota/Lexus and bought new regular lugs to replace the locks for a dollar each. Now I can finally get around to putting my winter wheels on hurrah.

ohhhh nut........... lol

spray some WD40 to help loosen it if you can. Worse case you have to drill it and destroy the screw. More work and cost.

glad to hear it worked out. 12 point socket is the way to go, just gives you more bite/grip. you should have followed this but hey, its only a $5 husky socket

I tried, but I didn't want to bang on it too much because my stud was more important to me than the socket. Even tried slamming the thing on a big stone a bunch of times after ... it's really jammed in there and already in the garbage hehe.

I never really thought about returning the socket! The lugs didn't tear up the socket I used too where it was ruined. Guess the aluminum lug was softer than the sockets I used. I can't believe some ***** was going to take a blow torch to your wheels. WTF?!
