Default 2006 Lexus GS430

Hello
This is my first Lexus, I've always been BMW guy but I got tired of having them break down on me every 6 months. Can y'all tell me the major point to know about my 2006 GS430. What are the known things that go wrong.

felt to stop any dash rattles
regular oil changes
timing belt and water pump @ 90k
follow the service manual for fluid service intervals
enjoy

as mentioned, the GS430 drivetrain is pretty much bulletproof and many examples of high mileage GS and LS.

There are actually a few threads that talk about about preventative maintanence and some of the potential problems you might encounter. Water pumps and timing belts are always a concern, Toyota/Lexus have moved away from the noninterferance motors (if the timing belt breaks there is enough room that the vales wont be hit) to ones that... well, will need a complete rebuild.

yep, you picked a car that has a timing belt rather than a timing chain. Although there is that downfall, you outright purchased the legendary UZ-series engine
