To those who've had to trade the GS in for something they feel is inferior, please try to see the glass half full. At least its a calculated decision. I have known people to have cars die and just not be in any remote position to even get another one for some significant amount of time. At least you guys can make a practical decision to accomplish a larger goal. There is something to be said for common sense.

Friend of mine with a RX400 just texted me today.

99,850 miles. Now getting a new battery and new inverter after Check hybrid system light came on.
Lucky as hell he got in under the warranty.

We all know that Lexus covers hybrid systems beyond the warranty. There is a sort of trust fund for Hybrid cars to cover beyond the warranty. Toyota does not want the bad publicity of someone having to pay for a battery. Driving them is key. I would worry about buying a low mile for the year hybrid. Mine was over miles. I was driving 300 to 400 a week with mine.

I have to say. AWD driving on un-plowed roads and having a trunk today was wonderful. Miss the quietness... The Mark Levinson...

No luck needed... car is already gone. I'm sure they will auction it, if it doesn't sell at the dealership.

Yes you are right and I know they tanked, that's the price I got at far out dealerships. Until I sold it on my own, I would never sell it on my own again but it was an experiences. I def miss the power and how quite it was. Well hope you got plans to come back to Lexus.

Oh believe me. This TL is nothing compared to the GS. If I had owned a GS460 or even a 350. I'd probably still be in it. Figure im in this TL for 2-3 years. I think when I trade it up, It'll be a LS460.
Now I'm looking for a 99-00 SC400 or... Buy my old HS ride. 1988-1989 Mitsubishi Starion ESiR.

Needless to say, I still swing from the Lex tree.

Nice that would be a nice upgrade can't deny that. I'm hoping I'll see a LS 600hl for sale around thats my next car but most likely 4-5 years from now.

^ that would be me

I could have possibly gotten more at the auctions but then he would lose on tax credit so pretty much as wash. Considering I got him the car 2+ years ago for 22k I would say even taking 18k wasn't too bad. Figure the hit with the 3gs plus the mileage he put on this car in his ownership. Pretty sure he only had to put tires and do oil changes so not a bad deal all considering.

Yeah no doubt about it he got a better deal than I was getting with 70K on the odometer. He got a good price for the car when he purchased it, my car was more and I had around the same miles he did.

Bro I thought you really were kidding when you text me Then I see this.

Hey I understand the reasons why and thanks for being such a great GSh advocate and I am sure you will continue to do so. Good luck on the new whip, surely AWD helps in those winters there.

And thanks for not posting exterior pics

If it makes you feel any better at the rate I'm going I'll be driving an Odyssey instead of the GS before I know it.
