only issue with eBay is getting the seller to honor the warranty. Our vendor, Sewell Lexus, ClubLexus Price:$155.82 for the water pump. At least your backed up should it be a bad part of have premature failure. The other parts I wouldn't worry as much about.

Thanks ibidu1 and for bringing the water pump to my attention from the other thread.

So the existing larger pulley and gaskets could be reused?
$61.62 : PULLEY, WATER PUMP [16173] x 1
$20.53 : GASKET, WATER PUMP [16271] x 1

Thanks again.

I'm glad it made people more aware of the situation.

You can reuse the pulley, and the water pump gasket comes the water pump kit #16100

If you wanted to go all out you can replace the tensioner, but those are $200 bucks

Thank you ibidu1! I just ordered the pump and the belt on ebay for my GS300. I have to change my thermostat and felt that it was a good way to get this done as well. I did not order the pully, is it recommended that I purchase it?

You can reuse the pulley, just clean it

Also just make sure to use blue loctite on all the bolts.

What is blue loctite and how do you apply it? By the way, thanks for the help.

Loctite is a thread locker, it helps prevent bolts from backing out from vibrations. You have three strengths. Since there's lots of vibrations in the water pump and engine block its best to use thread locker. A tiny drop on each bolt is enough. You can get them from any auto parts store

Blue- Strong, but easy to disassemble / work with
Red- More of a permanent application
Green- good for heat applications, stronger than red.
