Default P0138 Rear O2 Sensor Labor Time

So I've been getting this code on and off since the summer when I had to drive the car through a lot of standing water during a huge storm. It kind of sporadically went away for months but is now returning ...

At any rate, I have the part already but no time or inclination to get out in the ice and snow to do it myself so I mailed the nearest dealership and asked for their labor cost. I know that the harness for the thing might require a little pulling back of carpet in the rear but they are telling me it's a 2 HOUR JOB. They are telling me that the seat has to be removed to do the job... even if that's true, it's like 4 bolts what's the big deal?

I'm pretty sure they're blowing smoke up my rear - personally I think anybody with a lift could replace either of the rear O2 sensors in 15 minutes if they're good and half hour if they're fumbling through it.

Am I wrong? This dealership is also a Toyota dealership but they won't give me Toyota rates if I go to the Toyota desk. :P I have to go further away in the city to a Toyota only franchise... I should probably find out what they say. I'm thinking most places would round up the job to their 1 hour labor rate AT MOST.

Replace it yourself or take it to a mom and pop mechanic shop. Like you said it's easy to replace

Toyota dealerships price ended up being 3 times less than quoted at Lexus, I'm just going to take it there it's not worth my time and uncomfort on an icy driveway to do it myself to save what they're asking.

I mean Jesus, I don't understand how lexus dealerships can get away with this robbery - do people really take their cars there for out of warranty service?

They charge by the book. Whatever amount of time Lexus suggests, they go by it. Plus you have to realize their overhead is more than a mom and pop shop.
