If the owners manual states PREMIUM put premium in it, if not might as well put in some diesel, water, koolaid i don't know why even try different grades of fuel. It is built and designed for a specific fuel type.
.... not to mention paying an extra $2,500 for fuel, every 40 thousand miles for no benefit. I bought the car used and paid all of $25,000 for it in 2008 so in 200 thousand miles the gas savings are half the price of the car. I don't consider that just a few bucks.
its amaze me some people still think like that maybe you should consider get honda civic or hybrid instead, imagine thousand of $$$ you will save every 40 thousand miles using those cars instead. come on now, u re getting lexus GS, don't be cheap.
maybe you should email Lexus and ask them to re-write the manual about your "theory" and how much customers/users will save $$ every 40 thousand miles using 87 instead of premium. you might win an award....who knows...
i put water in mine. used to put the whole case, but i'm cutting back so just put a few bottle here and there and a few in the trunk. :-)
but the question is are you using "tap" water or "premium" distilled water Because if your using "premium" your paying too much. Its FREE from your garden hose
