Default Passenger Side Airbag problem

Hey CL Members im facing a problem with My Passenger side Airbag. The Other day i noticed that the passenger side Air Bag was Was off as per the signal that was on the Dash unit even though i had a passenger sitting in the passenger side so was wondering what may be causing this and if there a way to fix it to work properly again without me having to take my car to the dealership.

Thanks in advance,
1SloGS

I believe that if the person doesn't weigh enough, it wont turn the airbag on. It is possible to register the seat belt light reminder, without being heavy enough for the car to turn the airbag on.

Just a guess, there is no factual resource I am getting this information from, just my observations from previous cars.

Yep,
Definitely a weight switch/sensor in the seat cushion. Airbag on with my son in the seat yet off if his younger sister takes shotgun..
