Default Jack point location

Hi,

Does anyone have a good picture of the exact jack point location (front and rear)? I can not make out the location from the manual. Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Would you happen to have pictures showing where these locations are? I just don't want to do something I regret by using the wrong locations. Thanks.

Front is harder to find than rear, you need to get under there. Take your time. If you want to jack from the side look at my "diy wheel stud" thread i have pics

So the front jack point is Between the oil pan and the front bumper right? And for rear, it's just on the differential?

Nooo! Sorry but do not listen to burny. The jack point are on the pinch weld. If those are no good lift by the frame. Not a good idea to lift the rear diff. If it is a truck with a solid rear axle, ok but not good for gs

The pinch weld is located just behind the plastic side trim, most of it is covered by plastic, there are gaps in the front and rear. That's where you should jack.

However if yours look like mine...

Front.
And

Rear.
You'll want to lift by the frame

This is exactly how my jack points look like without the rust... I used my 2 1/4 ton duralast jack and This is what happens... I put in between the grooves and most of the time when jacking it up i hear clinking or metal bending sound.... I definitely don't recommend my jack or are the GS jacking points really ****ty?

I jack mine up by the pinch welds, but I use a hockey puck with a channel cut out of the middle. Works great and no bent metal

Or just use the scissor jack that comes with the car which I find completely and totally adequate to the task and doesn't damage the jack points at all. It's not like I lift the car every day so I don't sweat over the extra minute having to spin the gear.
