Default Edmunds review of GS 350 claims similarities to the 2006 Lexus GS3000???

I have been researching the GS350 sedan, and am leaning on buying a used one. In my quest to learn as much as I can about the GS350 I came across and Edmunds review which reported "that the current third-generation 2013 GS sedan actually debuted for 2006 as the GS 300. With the exception of their engines, the GS 350 and 300 are identical" (I am not looking for a supercharged six so the only thing relevant to me is a reliable engine)
I would appreciate any comments from those knowledgeable about the current GS350 as well as the past evolution history of the ES3000 since 2006
Thanks for your help!

if your biggest concern is a reliable engine why not go with the 430 and the V8? the engine is bullet-proof and will undoubtedly last longer then a V6.

I've not come across any mentions of the V6 lunching itself, but the 430 does benefit from prolonged usage and therefore continual refinement/development.
Both the 3L and 3.5L V6s seem plenty bulletproof after 7 years in production.
