Did you put the TPMS sensors in the new wheels?
If not, then you're asking for how it can be deactivated?

As Baron asked, did you install new TPMS sensors on the new wheels? Or did you move your old sensors from your stock wheels to the new wheels?

Even if you have transferred the TPMS to the new wheels, the manual also indicates that the system may have to be re-initialized (pg. 391-392 in the manual).

Yep, going to need more info to answer your question. Better to get all of the info correct as opposed to assume something. I swapped out my wheels a few months ago without issue. Used the same sensors which came on the original wheels. Did not have to do a reset of the system.

No I did not transfer the sensor I would just like to deactivate it. Out of curiosity how much would it cost for me to transfer the sensors to the new wheels.

I'd hazard a guess that any good tyre depot would charge you $30 to fit the sensors to the wheels and have them rebalanced.
All you need to do, is remove them from the wheels sitting in your garage/basement/wherever.

Alternatively, if you're feeling particularly wealthy, you could get the in-built system deactivated, and use this on the new rims.....http://www.ebay.com/itm/AVE-Universa...item2572259ee2

I would clarify that it would be $30 per wheel.

I paid $100.00 + my area tax (13%) at a Toyota dealer to install tires + TPMS onto rim, balancing and programming (I used a second TPMS set for my winter tires). Lexus dealership wanted $250.00.

Did you take the TMPS off your original tires yourself or did they do that for you too?

I bought all items (tires, rims, TPMS) separately as this was my winter set up. Toyota dealer just put them together, balance the wheels and program the TPMs.

I wonder if you take out TPMS on the old wheels and put them in the trunk and light would go off.

I believe all wheels are NOT TPMS compatible. I believe MOST are though! Hope this helped.

It will go off, most definitely because TPMS= tire pressure monitoring system. So it measure tire pressures. You will need something (and please don't take this the wrong way) but a pipe bomb-style device. You put all 4 tpms sensors in there, seal it really well, add 30psi, or 32, whatever you want, and it will imitate the TPMS sensors on your wheels. HOWEVER, I reccomend against it as we're all careless when we have such nice cars.... maintanence free is a + in my opinion, i'd rather leave the TPMS sensor in the wheels and have it monitor my pressures than risk a potentially flat tire
