Tire recommendations anyone?

I know this thread was 2 weeks ago, but I'd like to point out Conti DW (not the DWS) is being phased out, according to both TireRack and DiscountTire/AmericasTire. No reason given.
My DW have developed some pretty serious flat spots after only 10k miles. I never parked them for more than 2 weeks and even those were always indoor with some reasonable heating during winter months (however cold it gets here in Northern California). Very disappointed. I'm now looking for replacements.

Tire: Max Performance vs Grand Touring
The Continental DW I got last year have developed some serious flat spots after only 10k miles. I'm now looking for replacements. I know I want summer tires for better wet/dry traction, and I live in northern CA so it's not an issue. What I can't decide is between "max performance" vs "grand touring".
I know Michelin Pilot Super Sport and a couple others recommended on this forum belong to the "max performance" category. Reading reviews on TireRack, they seem to be suited for cars like Ferrari, BMW M-series, and Porsche. Even though I do drive fairly aggressively, I don't think GS can perform anywhere near those cars.
On the other hand, the OEM Michelin Primacy HP is very expensive and not well-rated on TireRack.
To be clear:
- I drive reasonably aggressively
- probably 70% freeway, 30% local
- I do prefer a reasonably smooth ride (which is why I went with the ContiDW last time), but without sacrificing too much handling
What are your thoughts? Would the Super Sport be wasted on the GS? Am I better off with a set of "grand touring" tires?

Tires
Have had the Michelin Pilot Sport Plus for about six months and the handling is great , they are quiet, and they have a 50,000 mile warranty. Not bad for an Ultra High Performance tire. The Dunlopt RFT's that came on the car were a joke for ride and quietness. Pulled them off at 15,000 and tossed them.

I would welcome any feedback on tires too...
I just took ownership of a 2008 GS 450h and it has a newer set of Michelin Primacy HP tires... And in short they are total crap. Worst set of tires I have every had on any car, they are harsh, noisy and ride like a truck. Almost did not but the car because of the tires. Took the salesman for a test drive and he dropped the price by $2000 just due to the noise of the tires.
I'm literally afraid to switch to "sport" mode for fear that the car might shake itself to bits.
I'm seriously considering ditching a somewhat new, very expensive set of OE tires for something more like a set of Turanza Serenity's.
I've had Michelin Pilots in the past too... a great tire, other than the "whats that? I can't hear you over the noise from the tires..." Problem.
I don't get the French made tires... Do they yell a lot in France?

Tire recommendations anyone?
I'm looking to replace the tires on my '08 GS350. I use the car for a daily dirver/comomuter and am curently running a set of Michelin Pilot Sport3's (245/40-18). The Michelins are on their last legs. Although they handled well, they were a bit too noisy for my taste whcih is to be expected for a ultra hi perf summer tire. They were expensive too. I'm looking at switching to ultra performance all- season tires and friends have recommended the Continential Extreme Contact DWS or the Bridgestorne Potenza RE970.
I'm at a loss here. Anyone have recommendations on either of these tires or other ones that may fit the bill? Please let me know or message me.
Thanks!

I like the Bridgestorne Potenza RE970 they have a little better performance over the Continential Extreme Contact DWS. The Bridgestone's are about $80/each more, so for daily driving id go with the Continential's. They will last you a good amount off time and keep you nice and safe.

I got some Nitto NT555 245/40Zr18's on my wifes 07 gs350. Last 3 sets have all been michelin primacy mxv4's(gs300-2 sets and nissan max) and these Nittos are awesome and really a bargain price.I will be using them again.

Run Flats vs. Regular Tires
Hello, new owner of a 2009 GS 460. Love, love, love the car, but not sure I love the run flats that it came with. The previous owner put two brand new OEM's on the front just before I bought it. The back two are original, and I just failed an inspection because of wear to one of the rear tires (inside edge). It was on the front before the replacement, and it is basically bald on the inner 1/3. The reviews I read of the Dunlops it came with as well as other UHP run flats are quite awful. The quality of the ride doesn't bother me much; I think the car rides incredibly. My concern is the cost vs. the life of the tires. This car only has 18K miles on it, and it already has two new tires and needs two more. I drive fast, and so did the previous owner, but we're not doing donuts in parking lots!
Of course, it doesn't have a spare, so if I got regular tires, I would have to buy the donut which the dealer quoted me about $400. That would wash the savings in conventional tires this round, but down the road, I could save a lot.
I'm sure this has been hashed out before, but I couldn't find it, and I am very new to the forum (what an amazing resource, by the way!). My apologies for re-treading an old topic if that's what I am doing. Pun intended?
