Default Keyless Remote

I recently purchased a pre owned keyless remote for my 2006 GS300 and took it to the dealership to have it programmed for my car. The tech told me that since it was already programmed for another vehicle they could not sync it with my vehicle. Is there a way to deactivate the current pre programmed settings and sync it with my vehicle, and if so can this be done without the help of the dealership?

There are tons of threads on this if you search. I purchased a used fob from ebay for my gs350 and had local dealer program it with no problems for $50. Perhaps try another dealer or locksmith?

To answer your question. Yes. They will have to wipe it clean then reprogram. That is how they did mine. And it was $100 because of this (1hr). Only $50 if it is just to program (1/2 hr).
