Its probably the same quality? I think it is a thin piece of wood (if it is wood). The backing of both the red and the black are plastic. I'm not completely sure though hopefully someone else knows better than me. I just swapped them cuz I liked the all black and the 430 is gone...

Yeah, I like your all black look too.

I am thinking of doing something to get my interior all black too.

How was it removing the trim around the center console; steering wheel; and door trim?

Center console is easy.. just make sure the shifter is in "neutral". The door trims are hard as you have to remove the entire skin to get to that small panel. The steering wheel is 1 entire piece (besides the airbag).

How long did the process take you?

* Removal
* Paint
* Re-installation

I didn't paint anything. I swapped it from my other GS which had the "black wood" option (looks more like a marble type texture).

Your install times will differ, but as previously mentioned, to do your door switch, you have to remove the entire door skin. This probably will take me 20-30 minutes per door (uninstall, remove, re-install). The steering wheel was ~ 30 minutes, but I've swapped other steering wheels before. The center console is maybe 10 minutes at most.

Very nice, always wondered why Lexus didn't offer color combos like this originally.

Thanks.

Sorry about that, I must have gotten you mixed up with the OP when I typed this post.

It appears in this stock picture there's also trim next to the left most drivers side air vent; and next to the left air vent on the passenger side.

Did you also change those trims too?
