Default Maximum size spacers

i'm thinking of putting spacers on my rear wheels to push them out a bit more. right now i have 19x8.5 wheels with +38 offset and 245/35/19 tires at all 4 corners. after doing some calculations i think the maximum sized spacers i can put on the rear wheels are 19mm without having to do any fender mods. can anybody tell me if this is correct?

Depending on how the car will be used, spacers are either cool or absolutely evil. I used to be into Mustangs (Cobras, GTs and finally a Mach1) and spacers make a car look great and corner better. Drove around with'em for years. But I did lose a rear wheel once when racing, not a pleasant thing. You should retorque after the first 50-100 mikles after install, and then periodically after that.

JMHO from personal experience...

no i didn't. i haven't put on my summer wheels yet. but there's a member on here running 19x10 with +43 offset on 275/30/19 wheels in the back with no rubbing or fender mods. long story short, i did some calculations and thought 19mm is the maximum amount i could push the wheels out. was hoping the experts here would be able to shine some light on this.

btw the car will never be tracked or raced so hard cornering will rarely happen. thanks for the tip though mrbulk
