Went to the dealership for an IS, after sitting in it I realized there wasn't much room plus they wanted a high down payment. They offered me a GS, with more room, lower down payment and much better styling. I signed and never looked back.

ummm... GS450h has everything i wanted...

look? look young enough yet make me feel mature...
comfort? it has it really comfy, only wish i could throw in carpet the way Rolls Royce has.
handling? sweeet i could switch between sport and normal
power? 340hp more than enough.. 0-60 5.2 second beat G35 yet i get around 28mpg (i know its not high but i am happy)

the main reason is i want a decent luxury car, but not too stand out like Mercedes or BMW, i really like the CLS550, their price isn't far apart but Mercedes is nothing but problem since i grew up with them and they always break down. Lexus fix that problem, i like car that has good power yet it save gas and roomy enough so GS has everything i wanted, gotta love the moment when you start the car is completely silent..... Lexus has exactly everything i wanted in a car, love it

The reason i went in for a GS 350 AWD :
First for its Bold and sharp looks.
Second Because it is AWD
Third wanted something luxurious.
Plus this was a really big upgrade from a Toyota Camry to a GS 350 and wanted something that had more power and better at handling.

I guess I would have to say it started with my father choosing a 2004 GS 430 for me for my graduation present, when at the time I wanted a infiniti M35 Sport, I guess when I saw the GS it didnt really look like a car I wanted to own. I guess the first day I drove it off the lot I seemed to fall in love with the car. I guess you can say it grew on me. Then I upgraded to the GS 300 and finally the 450h so in the end I think the reason I bought the GS was because the car looked good stock especially the 450h it was something with style and I looked at the BMW 5 series and Audi A8 but I think reliablity won the toss. Glad everyday I drive my GS

At the same time i knew i wanted a unique car that was easy/cheap enough to modify vs a mercedes/bmw/ LS.
I would have considered an IS/g35/350z but they were too common and too much competition :P
+1. to add to that, i wanted lexus reliability and at least 300 hp. and has decent aftermarket support (bodykit, suspension, etc). and the fact that the GS is a true VIP platform (even if i never mod my GSh to that level) is a plus.

Because I fell in love with the lexus brand in 1998 watching their LS commercials and then finally getting the opportunity to drive my uncles LS400. I said to myself "self, one day you will own a lexus" it would be almost 10 years before I could truly afford one. The first lexus was a 2001 GS300 for the wife and then 3 mos later I saw a private sale on an 06 GS430 that I could not pass up. I love my GS. Next on the list will be an LS (once I payoff my GS).

Because my last car was a bit too small (Infiniti G37) plus I wanted to step up to something classier at my age(!).
