Purchased '08 350 =), Front bumper has license plate holes =(
Hello all, i just bought an '08 over the weekend. This is the 2nd GS i've owned. Recently totaled the '07 I had. Didn't even consider a different car, I love the GS!
Unfortunately to my dismay, the front license plate is drilled into the bumper! I never leave the front plate on, it looks so much better w/o it imo. Apparently my '07 had a refinished bumper and the dealer never attached the front plate. In my previous car, an Acura, the plate attached to a bracket which is screwed in under the grill. I am sort of suprised that Lexus designed the bumper that way that forces you to drill holes into the bumper.
i guess i will try to use some bumper plugs and see if that looks okay. sigh. But overall still very happy with my purchase!

I also recently purchased a GS350 and it came with the front plate. When I removed it, I was shocked to see the bolts going through the bumper. You would think Toyota/Lexus could come up with a removable bracket or something... I tried the plugs and they drove me crazy. $400 later, I have a completely refinished front bumper void of any plate holes.

Same here! Bought my car in Texas where the front plate is required. Not required in NC. Looks like the screws were in so tight that it pulled the bumper out where the holes are. Uggg! I just found some black screws to fit temporarily until I can find a more permanent option. Would be interested to see what's available.

I purchased this
http://www.autosportcatalog.com/lice...late-mount.cfm
looks way better than drilling hole in my bumper...plus the added luxury of pushing it under the car for photoshoots.

I just purchased a GS450H and it doesn't have a front license plate, but in my province it is required to have one in the front. I am thinking on purchasing that retractable plate after seeing your post. Would it be possible by any chance you could post pictures of how it looks on the 3Gs? I see it's a lot lower than normal plate mounting location. I would be greatly appreciated, thanks
