Hey folks. Hope everyone enjoyed the Thankgiving holiday. Quick question . . . . I was told by a friend who works for Toyota, that the space saver spare for the Toyota Solara has the same specs as that of the GS. I did some research and have found that the tire and steel rim is the same size (T155/70D17). If that is true, the next question is, do these cars have the same bolt pattern and will it clear the brakes? Any ideas? I am about to pull the trigger on some non runflat tires and am looking for a space saver that I don't have to spend $400+ on!

GS calipers are huge.... I can't really assure you, but to my belief, 155/70/17 is quote small =\ the tires&wheel combo for the solara are 16in right? and they're 215. I don't think it would be wise to ride in 155/70/17. You COULD just get some Roadside Assistance, in case something happens to a tire, they can just haul it to your local tire shop or your home and you can take the tire to a shop yourself

 

I'm 99% sure that the bolt pattern is the same. Clearing the calipers on your GSh could be a stretch though.

 

I have an 05 Solara and a 07 GS 450h. I'll try to check on caliper clearance in the next few days.
