how loud in acceleration is "normal?"

I've noticed when getting on the highway ramp from 20 to 60 MPH, that the acceleration is quite noisy. The RPMs jump from 1.5 to 3 with the slightest tap down on the accelerator. How much of this is normal?

My v8 is quite loud.. it even outpowers my full exhaust system when it comes to sound....

you should make a video, but from the description it sounds pretty normal.
