Default Lexus/Toyota

Just a question, does anyone get frustrated sometimes when people say your car is basically a Toyota, and that it is not a luxury vehicle, I mean granted it really is made by Toyota corp. I just wonder what others think when they hear this from others who drive BMW's or Mercedes, Audi. Although this really doesn't faze me as my mother drives a BMW and sister as well and other family members drive a Mercedes, so I could care less, as I will always drive Lexus as I can’t wait for the new GS to come out. I just really want to get your opinions on this.

Lexus is owned by Toyota. I see nothing wrong with that and always acknowledge it when some jerk tries to get under my skin with dumb comments. My agreement shuts them down. Especially when I reply with a question of why that's a big deal. Toyota just happens to make cars I like.

Ok, I do care a little bit, and I do understand that it’s a Toyota. It’s just the fact that Toyota made this brand to differentiate itself from Toyota so it could make a name for itself in the luxury area. I'm just saying it gets annoying after a while of the same B.S. from others.

i can honestly say there are far more other things that i should worry about than stuff like these. i don't even "laugh it off anymore". my way is "so?" because honestly, that's a meaningless claims from people

BMW drivers are mostly poseurs that wouldn't be able to afford the next repair to it anyway. The 3 series is the car that people who used to drive rusty civics with huge spoilers move up to once they get a bigger credit line.

Actually I drive both a GS and a BMW 3 Coupe, and enjoy them both immensely.

Also, the Avalon is FWD, and is in no way comparable to the GS.

That was for BJ's comment. Apparently Bavaria was typing and posting at the same time I was.

Not even close

to the OP: Who cares? In this industry lots of companies have luxury and economy brands

-Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini & Audi are owned by VW
-BMW has mini
-Mercedes was once part of Chrysler for a few years, they currently own SMART
