60,000 mile checkup with extended warranty
It's time for me to do the 60,000 checkup and oil change etc... Now i have an extended Warrenty with chase and my question is do I have t o bring it to the dealer? Because it's expensive or can I do it myself or a local shop. The problem I see is If something happens to the engine that I need my warranty to cover they wouldn't have proof of the work getting done. What do you guys do I'm new to this stuff

Hmmm idk that. So what if I bring it to a local shop that I trust? And also do they need any kind of proof, for example when they pull the carfax it shows all the stuff the car got done

60k is just scheduled maintanence, you can have whatever done wherever, but for instance if you get a trans service done and your trans goes up under warranty but it proven that you didn t use Lexus approved fluids or that the right amount of fluids were not used then you will not be covered under warranty. I personally pick and chose what the dealer does and doesn t do to my car.

I just did mine last month!
Without a doubt take your car to a dealer for this, especially if you have that warranty thing you are talking about. Call a couple of the Lexus dealers nearby and get their quotes on the damage ($) for this service. Now, if you review the maint schedule it will say replace the plugs. One dealer counted cost for this and said it is highly advisable, and the other dealer gave me the cost without-stating that it was not required since they were platinum plugs. I opted for doing it since they were in there doing everything else, and the car actually felt a little quicker and quieter at idle.
One thing they tried to jam me on was that our rotors are somewhat performance oriented and mine produced a very slight raised lip around the outer portion of the rotor. Dealer stated they would not place new pads on these rotors and attempted the upsell to R&R both front rotors, NOT!
Told em to leave it and had my local, and trustworthy tech, place new gold series Carquest (Raybestos) pads on. He measured and inspected entire rotor and said pads dont contact the very outer edge anyway, so its not had an issue at all.
Im all about preventative maint but Lexus will charge you alot more than your avg local guy. I would def not do this service yourself for sure though unless you have expertise in doing everything on the schedule! Never thought of taking the Toyota route, anxious to know if their labor rate differs much from Lexus? Good thing the tech who did my service was an eager young kid who came out and told me how great the car looked- and I got him to cough up his cell number and he stated he would do side work within reason for me! Keep us posted man!

^^^ funny you say that my dealer actually let their tech work on my car on the side as well because i am too low. I guess this way the dealer doesn t feel liable for my car going up on boards to get on the lift oh well it saves me money and I still get my car done by a Lexus tech
